Bakkavor Bread, one of Cheshire’s major employers with two factories in Nantwich and Crewe, is looking to recruit more than 30 new people. Vacancies are within a number of different functions including Production, Hygiene, Engineering, H&S, and Logistics.

The two sites, which currently employ more than 670 people, produce over 11 million bread items each week with an average of 50 different types of product being run at any one time. These include flatbreads, doughballs, garlic baguettes & slices, which meet the nation’s increasing demand for high-quality, chilled, artisan breads. The most popular product the business makes is cheese flatbread and products are typically made within two hours from being mixed to being packaged ready for distribution to the major supermarkets.

Paul Peachey, Business Director for Bakkavor Bread & Pizza said: “Bakkavor Bread is on a roll and we are keen to welcome anyone who is wants to rise to the challenge and get in on a slice of the action.”

Employee benefits at the sites include staff shops, regular well-being and charity events, an employee recognition programme and the Bakkavor Benefits Scheme which provides retail discounts on the high street.

This recruitment drive is part of a broader Bakkavor initiative across the country. Last year alone, the Group recruited over 2,500 people to meet increasing consumer demand for fresh prepared food. Bakkavor currently employs more than 19,000 people in the UK.
