Doves Farm has secured further supermarket listings for its range of Organic Ancient Grain Flours with Tesco. The Stoneground Wholemeal Buckwheat Flour (1kg), Stoneground KAMUT® Khorasan Wholemeal Flour (1kg), White Spelt Flour (1kg) and White Rye Flour (1kg) will be available in stores from 25th November. Tesco already stocks Doves Farm’s popular Wholemeal Spelt and Wholemeal Rye flours.

Sales of the three most popular ancient grain flours – rye, spelt and buckwheat – rose by 19.9% last year, which is significantly faster than the total flour market which declined -1.4%.*

Doves Farm, the UK’s no.1 organic flour brand*, has led the way in reintroducing ancient grains in the UK and many of the flours are milled using the original stone grinding technique. These grains of yesteryear are enjoying a renaissance amongst bakers looking to add something new to their baking, or to put new twists on traditional recipes.

Packed with unique, naturally delicious flavours, spelt, rye, buckwheat and KAMUT® Khorasan add variety to breads, biscuits, cakes, pastry and much more. Spelt can be used in all baking, Rye is suited to breads, cakes and biscuits, while Buckwheat can be used to make pancakes, noodles and pasta, and KAMUT® Khorasan is excellent for making pasta and gourmet bread.

Commenting on the product launch, Tesco buying manager, Kasia Plaza, said: “Ancient grains are growing in popularity as our customers look for new textures and flavours in their baking, so we’re delighted to offer products from Doves Farm, who are synonymous with these heritage grains.”

Clare Marriage, Doves Farm CEO, comments:

“We are delighted with this new listing in Tesco. Having spotted the ancient grain potential when we first launched Doves Farm over 40 years ago, we have milled the flours in the most traditional way possible to ensure they stay true to their heritage.”
