Puratos UK Adds Vegan Granola Bake Mix And Satin Vegan Plain Cake Mix To Vegan Range.

International bakery ingredients expert, Puratos UK, is extending its vegan range with the launch this month of the Vegan Granola Bake Mix and a new Satin Vegan Complete Plain Cake Mix.

The new launches bring the number of suitable-for-vegan products in the Puratos UK range to over 250, to cater for increasing demand from those following plant-based diets. According to the Vegan Society, the number of vegans in the UK has quadrupled in the past five years and vegans and vegetarians are expected to make up a quarter of the British population by 2025.

Easy to use and versatile, the NEW Granola Bake Mix offers the delicious taste that Puratos customers expect, while also being suitable for vegans. The mix contains wholegrains, oats and sunflower seeds – all ingredients which the Puratos Taste Tomorrow research* revealed that consumers view as both healthy and tasty and offers a clean label proposition. Ideal for creating new and tasty snack products with a great texture, the Granola Bake Mix is the perfect base for a variety of snacks. Recipe ideas from Puratos include: Passion Fruit and Granola Bake; Granola Swirl; Granola Fruit and Nut Shard; Exotic Granola Fruit Slice and Cranberry Granola Bites.

The launch of Puratos UK’s NEW Satin Vegan Plain Cake Mix follows the development of Puratos UK’s popular Satin Vegan Plain and Chocolate mixes in 2018. Puratos UK customers asked whether it would it be possible to create a vegan cake mix which was even simpler to use and the NEW Satin Vegan Plain Complete Cake Mix is Puratos UK’s response. The new mix requires the addition of just oil and water, rather than soya milk, water, vegetable oil and glycerine, as the 2018 launch did. Delivering a superior cake quality, texture and taste, the NEW Satin Vegan Plain Cake Mix is ideal for a wide range of popular cakes, including celebration cakes, muffins and cupcakes.

Commenting on the new products, Puratos UK Digital and Communications Manager, Lydia Baines said:

“Sales of our vegan products are growing as more of our customers offer vegan patisserie and bakery products to meet increasing consumer demand. Our Taste Tomorrow consumer study* confirmed that veganism is going to continue its upward trend, with 20% of people buying vegan or vegetarian food each week.”
