Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, has started selling chicken meat under its best known Petelinka brand in the Siberian Federal District. The brand’s offering in the region is manufactured at Altaisky Broiler, whose facilities underwent the first stage of modernisation this year.

Petelinka sales in the Siberian Federal District started in early October. The brand is currently offered in the Yenisey, Sever, Baltiysky Bazar stores in Barnaul, and the Bahetle chain in Novosibirsk. In the first week of sales, some 500 kg of Petelinka products were shipped to stores.

In the coming weeks, the brand will be offered by the federal retailers Magnit, Lenta, Auchan, and others operating in the region. In addition, Petelinka will be sold at Maria-Ra and Anix, the largest retail chains in the Siberian Federal District.

Petelinka’s offering in the Siberian Federal District is produced at Altaisky Broiler, a Biysk-based company that was acquired by Cherkizovo Group in December 2018. The first stage of a major upgrade at Altaisky Broiler preceding the launch of the Petelinka line was completed in August of this year. The modernisation totalling over RUB 240 million included re-equipment of the cut up line, renovation of the biosafety systems, and enhancement of warehouse logistics.

All chicken produced under Petelinka’s brand by the Group’s site in Biysk is grown locally in Altai, one of Russia’s most environmentally friendly regions. To emphasise this fact, the product packaging features the “Grown in Altai” label.

Petelinka is Russia’s best known and most popular chilled poultry brand. The top seller in Moscow and the Moscow Region for many years, Petelinka has also been the market leader in St Petersburg since 2018. The brand’s offering includes over 40 natural and healthy ready-to-cook products that are made from 100% chicken fillet and natural spices. Russia’s National Trade Association has repeatedly named Petelinka as the Product of the Year.

The brand will be sold in the Siberian Federal District along with the popular regional brand Altaisky Broiler. It enjoys high demand among local consumers and will continue to be produced at the group’s facility in Biysk.
