FOOD & DRINK EXPO 2018 PROMISES INNOVATION AND INSPIRATION

UK’s leading food and drink trade event returns to NEC in April

25 October 2017 – As we close in on the end of 2017, buyers from the grocery, wholesale, foodservice and speciality retail sectors are turning their attention to the year ahead. For those looking to source the newest, most innovative food and drink products or simply trying to keep their fingers on the pulse of the hottest trends, Food & Drink Expo 2018 – taking place from 16-18 April – is a must-attend event.

With more than 600 exhibitors in attendance – including everything from start-ups to multinational brands – buyers from across Europe will be able to touch, taste and experience all the latest products. And with BDO* revealing that 92% of respondents to its Food and Drink 2017 survey said new product development and reformulations would be key to future growth, the event is expected to be a hotbed of innovation.

Exhibitors showcasing healthy foods are expected to attract a huge amount of attention at Food & Drink Expo. With consumers in the UK and further afield continuing to seek out low-calorie, low-fat, free-from or sugar-free options, brands will be keen to showcase products that fit into these growing categories.

Among the brands exhibiting their products in April will be: Bridor, Radnor Hills, The Real Olive Co, Folkingon Juices, Tudor Tea & Coffee, and Fruitypot.

As consumers continue to broaden their horizons, world cusine has flourished. Be it ready meals, raw ingredients, Thai or Caribbean, impressive growth is regularly being achieved as retailers spice up their aisles, with new products, new variants and even new cuisines.

To help buyers identify unique products from around the globe, Food & Drink Expo will feature a raft of suppliers from inspirational countries. These include Ireland-based Taste Cork, a food initiative to support a sustainable local food economy; Vleems Food BV from the Netherlands, Holland’s top producer of microwaveable convenience snacks for retail; Italian dairy producer Brazzale SPA; and healthy Mediterranean snacks company Snatts, which is based in Spain.

Alongside the exhibition, Food & Drink Expo will provide a series of live seminars that will present future food and drink trends, as well as highlighting the industry’s vision for the future. The event theatre will provide visitors with the chance to join lively, topical discussions hosted by a string of high profile speakers, who will aim to send participants away with ideas to grow their businesses.

Dan Dixon, Sales Director at Food & Drink Expo, said: “Food & Drink Expo only comes around every two years and it presents a unique opportunity for buyers to source inspirational products. With healthy eating and varied diets becoming increasingly important, there is no better place to stay in tune with trends, while meeting peers and new suppliers from around the world.”

Food & Drink Expo is co-located with four other events – The Ingredients Show, which is new for 2018, Foodex, Farm Shop & Deli Show and National Convenience Show. Together they will bring together 1,500-plus suppliers from across the whole food and drink supply chain, from retailers to manufacturers, making it the place to do business in the industry.
